Sweets

I ate many sweets such as donuts, sweet bread, and cookies in Canada. All of the sweets were very delicious but they were so sweet!!! I need a cup of coffee. I went to a cafe in Kelowna with Mami and Koto when we did a school trip. I ate a chocolate peanut butter oat bar. Mami also ate it, but she said it was so sweet and stop eating it.

Restaurants

I went to a pub in North shore and a Korean food restaurant near Aberdeen Mall. I didn’t expect to drink alcohol and kimchi in Canada. I remember Koto being impressed with kimchi and rice. I enjoyed talking with my classmates.

Campfire

I did a campfire with my host family and their friends. I roasted marshmallows and made s’more. It was a good atmosphere!!! I warmed up by a bonfire and felt nature while listening to songs. The stars were very beautiful.

Cooking

Sometimes I made cookies with my host mother. The cookies in this photo are strawberry jam cookies. We also made gingerbread cookies. I was surprised that my host brother ate more cookies than we expected, so I just ate only 1 and a half of them. We also cooked chocolate cakes for Halloween and apple cinnamon buns.
I made Japanese food such as curry rice, omelet rice, and ginger-grilled pork. I didn’t expect to eat Japanese food in Canada, so I never felt the loneliness of not being able to eat it.
My host mother is good at cooking. I ate various dishes from around the world like Italian food, Mexican food, and Indian food. I enjoyed eating. I will get recipes from her, and I will cook them when I will go back to Japan!

Halloween

I enjoyed some Halloween events.
On October 29th, I did the pumpkin patch in the leap program. I chose my pumpkin and carved it. It was hard to carve, but I enjoyed it while eating pizza and some snacks and talking with the participants.
After that, I went to a haunted house with Koto and my host family. It was scary but a man who is an actor and has long nails told us which way to go. He was so kind and it was funny. After the haunted house, I went to O’Keefe ranch to do a Halloween maze. It was fun but sometimes, it was scary for me because some ghosts were chasing me.

On October 31st, I wore a costume and I enjoyed playing games, eating snacks, and taking pictures. I never experienced something Halloween events in Japan, so it was a good opportunity for me.
After school, I visited my neighbors and say “trick or treat! ” to get some candy though I’m an adult. Everyone didn’t realize that.

Vancouver

I went to Vancouver twice.
The first time, I went there from September 30th to October 2nd. I enjoyed sightseeing, eating delicious foods, and shopping.
The second time, I went there from November 5th to 6th. I met my friend who is a friend from high school. I enjoyed spending time with her and shopping.
